Happiness

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin..real life...But, there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time to be served or a debt to be paid..then LIFE would begin.
At last it dawned on me that these obstacles where my LIFE. This perspective has helped me see that there is no way to happiness... but that happiness is the way.

So, stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you retire, until you get married...until you get divorced, until Friday night, until you get a new car, or home, or job, until your song comes on the radio, until spring, summer, winter or fall...until you have a drink, until you sobered up, or until you die, to decide that there is no better time to be happy then NOW!!

I have been guilty of doing that. "waiting" for life to start. After this, after that. blah blah blah. Thanks for the reminder that life is NOW!!

Dena, oh good post once again my friend. I too have been very quilty of waiting for life to begin, and it did not dawn on me until my 40th birthday that , "what was I waiting for". I already was living, and it I keep waiting for something to happen, life will be over. So now I live each day as it is, taking the good with the bad, not always liking what is dealt me that day, but dealing with it, and keeping the happy moments close to my heart. And I found that there were more happy moments then I imagined.

I know I have told you this before but, it helps to look at the world as something to be enjoyed.

The world is God's canvas and the sun his brush. Every single day He paints the world for us to see and cherish. Every night the sun goes down and the shadows wash the canvas clean waiting for a new painting tomorrow. Every single day I wake up happy to be alive and excited to see what God has painted for me that day! Hugz kiddo
