What about me 4 Wednesday

I have decided to start trying to work some of the extra pounds off that I have accumulated in the last ohhhh ummmm almost 11 years since my last son was born....YIKES I KNOW!!!! So anyway I have cut myself back to only allowing myself to have one diet coke a day.... and I drink lots of water and actually have added some fiber drinks to the mix , which have turned out to be very tasty, my problem has never been that I eat too much its more that I dont eat the right things and Im not a diet kind of person . I also dont get any exercise so I have added vitamins to my life, added fiber to keep me regular (something Ive always had problems with) and Josh, Devin and I have started bike riding and walking every night. I have not rode a bike in like 10 years and its not that I forgot how to I just forgot that it hurts your butt!!! and wow trying to pedal in the wind is soooo frickin hard!!!! But after we have been out for a good 45 minutes and we take our 15-20 minute walk I feel so much better. Of course I wish there was a miracle diet pill that just ate the fat away while I was sleeping but since thats not the case I will continue with this and hope and pray that I soon start seeing results. Im not hoping to look like a beauty queen or anything (though that would be nice hehe) I just want to feel comfortable in my own body once again. And with Josh and Devin as my little personal trainers to keep pushing me and not letting me give up then I should get there. I actually just looked it up and walking for 20 minutes I can burn 106 calories, and riding my bike for 45 minutes burn 545 calories. WOW that makes me more motivated!!!! I will keep you posted as time goes and if any of you have suggestions on whats work for you let me know!!

I'm right there with ya sister! I've lost 7 lbs. since the whole no coke thing. Of course those are 7 lbs that I've lost a million times. Keep peddling...you can do it! You can get a big ole old lady seat to put on you bike, not attractive, but practical.

I have never thought you were overweight so that is a whole different issue. I am happy to hear you are getting the exercise so that you don't end up with things like heart problems or diabetes. Just as with anything I have seen you try, I know you can do this. You have a willpower that most people could only hope for. So, keep on going kiddo. In the meantime I will keep my eyes open for a new bicycle seat for you. ...Now drop and give me 20! 1...2...3...tm

gotta love Tom...thats the exactly right thing to say...

excercise...uurrghh...I don't really like to run or cycle...its the whole hot or sweaty thing...but swimming is simply the best excercise and uses all the muscles...and totally underated Yoga!! it keeps you trim, is relaxing, and i swear by it, i'd have been in the nut house years ago without it...and it doesn't feel like excercise....there are some great beginner DVD's, also you can get good tips on line..

Kudos on making a healthy life change, but what is wrong with Diet coke? I know that regular coke is fattening, but diet is diet...no cals, nothing but a little sodium.

I'm right there with ya girl...and it's a good thing you're giving up the diet coke...diet soda actually makes you more hungry, so you tend to overeat...albeit, regular soda is worse because of the sugar content...soda in general is just bad for ya....but I can't preach too much to ya cuz I drink the ocassional Sierra Mist at work...LOL I'm hoping to start Weight Watchers in late May or early June....my problem is not having anyone to hold me accountable...I think with WW I'll be able to stick to a specific eating plan and hopefully some exercise (I HATE EXERCISE!!) I want to get a Wii Fit...it looks like fun (exercise in disguise...LOL) :o) Good luck and keep us posted as the pounds and inches melt off!!

I'm starting to exercise as well. I hope we can both do this.
