What about ME Wednesday

This morning while I was doing one of the things I do every morning it got me to thinking...I wonder how many people are as anal about this as I am? Every morning before my day gets started I have to make the bed...I just can not stand crawling into bed at night when the bed has been left a mess all day....so I tighten the sheets and make the bed look all pretty each and every morning...yes Im one that has all the extra pillows thrown on my bed too just to make it look good..it gives me a good feeling when I walk into the room and see the bed all made with all the extras on it...like its a piece of art or something....and then to pull the blankets back at night and crawl in feels so much better then if everything was left wrinkled all day long.....so now I want to know what about you

Do you make your bed each morning?

Growing up, we were never taught to make our beds. My mom doesn't make her bed, so it just never happened for us either. But when I moved out I started making my bed, but it was not always easy to remember. Then my husband moved in with me and my bed didn't get made because I would wake up in the morning and he'd be coming to bed at the same time since he worked nights. When he switched jobs, I began to make the bed again, but not always because I wanted it to be perfect and who has time. Since he has been gone though, I have made the bed every single day, and I think that is partly because I have not made it perfect, and partly because it gives me something to do. Now it's a habit. I need to make some other things habits but this was by far the easiest habit to get into because I do it at the same time every day. Other things not so much... I need a schedule and I suck at making my own schedules. But it's easy to get up out of bed then make it.

Throw the covers off and go!

No one sees my bedroom but me, so why make the bed nice and neat when no one will ever be there to see it. And if someone who has never been inside hour house is given a tour, it's only the downstairs. We don't take them to the 2nd floor for the tour.

Now, that's just me, and I certainly don't fault anyone who makes their bed. To each their own.

I wish I could say yes.

I'm all about making the bed. I can't imagine not...I also insist that my daughter does the same while she is living in our house!!

Is that really your bed!?

I get out and go. I'm perpetually running late so there's no time for the bed until I come home from work. There's an odd satisfaction about crawling into a bed that's made at night time. I feel you there! :)

I am definitely a bed maker! I can not sleep well in a bed that isn't made...have no clue why. The worst part...it has to be made by me and exactly the way I like it with just the right amount of sheet over the top cover!

Sorry for your OCD there Dena.

I am happy to say despite my mother constant efforts I have never had the compulsion to make my bed. It never made sense unless i was having a girl over. My wife makes the bed before she goes to bed which confuses the heck out of me, but to each their own, and luckily she doesn't fault me for it, :)

Making the bed is the first thing I do. I make sure the sheets are perfectly straight and I too use lots of pillows. I also LOVE to change the curtains and quilt, all matching at least twice a year. At our winter place in Arizona I do the same. My husband just shakes his head!

Most mornings I make our bed. It really is just so much better climbing into a neatly made bed at the end of the day.
