Thoughts 4 my Thursday

Why are there flotation devices under plane seats instead of parachutes?

Why do fat chance and slim chance mean the same thing?

If 7-11 is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, why are there locks on the doors?

If nothing ever sticks to Teflon, how do they make Teflon stick to the pan?

Why do they put Braille dots on the keypad of the drive-up ATM?

Why do we drive on parkways and park on driveways?

Why is it that when you transport something by car, it's called a shipment, but when you transport something by ship, it's called cargo?

If a black box in a plane is indestructible, why can't they make the whole plane out of it?

Why is it that when you're driving and looking for an address, you turn down the volume on the radio?

Why is it called a TV "set" when you only get one?

Why is it, whether you sit up or sit down, the result is the same?

Why call it "take" a dump, when you leave something behind?

Is there another word for thesaurus?

Why did God give men nipples?

If ATM stands for Automatic Teller Machine, why do we call it an ATM machine? And if PIN stands for Personal Identification Number, why do we call it a PIN number?

and finally....

Wouldn't it be nice if whenever we messed up our life, we could simply press Ctrl Alt Delete and start all over?

Ha, that is soooo brilliant, the first time we flew anywhere, JJ was 6, when we were on board, he asked the hostess where the parachute was, she explained about life jackets and he looked shocked and asked why, she said she didn't know, he said it was dumb... i have to say, i agreed.

the turnign the radio down, made me laugh, i do this...just dunno why...

I've always loved the driveway and the parkway one, since I was a kid.

The no parachutes on the plane thing is actually for a reason. Parachutes are only usable to stop your fall from a certain height. Also, trying to get 100 paniced people to secure a parachute, which despite the movies takes several coordinated minutes. Then orderly and safely jump out of a plummeting plane just wouldn't happen in the time (30-60 seconds give or take)allowed.

I absolutely love things like this! I get an email today with different anagrams. In light of recent events in my life, I was amused to see that "mother in law" rearranges to "woman hitler".

...So true. I called scissors a "pair of scissors" on my blog the other day, and thought why is it acceptable to say pair of scissors?? There's only one, unless you count the two parts of the one scissors, right?

I confuse myself.
