Im FAT!!!!!

I know that its normal for most people to put on some weight during the winter months but I honestly feel like Ive packed on so much weight that I feel like when I was nine months pregnant (AND NO IM NOT PREGNANT) but I do have that fear that one day someone will ask me that question and man would I just die! I get so upset with this. I honestly don't over eat, and I drink lots of water, I know I need to get more physical I got the wii ea active and man is it a work out but I talk myself out of doing it all the time and that's not good at all. And now I just simply feel very down and depressed about my weight I honestly no longer feel comfortable in my skin! Josh said once it warms up that he will get out and walk with me and we can ride our bikes Im just afraid by the time it gets warmer out I will be even more out of shape. I have a fear of stopping for a break every few minutes because Im out of breath

and then summer will be here and it will be time to go soak up the sun in the back yard and Im afraid of the exposing the neighbors to this!

There's nothing wrong with stopping every few minutes to catch your breath when you're getting back into it. Nobody goes out and runs a 2 hour marathon the first time out. Well, except the first guy, and he dropped dead right after he delivered his news. Hang in there.

While weight can lead to other health issues, the major factor here is how you feel about yourself. You need to be happy with yourself. If that means getting thinner, then great. Your body will appreciate it as well.

I have been trying to exercise more too. I am the way you described it. I have to stop and catch my breath. But, the more I work at it, the less frequent those breaks are becoming.

Here is a suggestion. Next time you are getting ready to hop in the shower, stand in front of a full length mirror and take a a good look at the whole package. Take a picture of yourself and hang it on the fridge. Not the whole body (we don't want to put the kids in therapy) but, just your face. Capture that look of disappointment in yourself. Everytime you go to the fridge you will see that expression and stop and think.

Good luck kiddo. I know you can do it!

Girl, I know all too well how you feel...I keep telling myself "you'll be more active when the weather warms up"...and I'm sooooo hoping I will...I HAVE to! I've packed on some pounds too. Wish we lived closer to each other so we could walk together!
(OH, and it snowed AGAIN today!!! I'm beginning to think winter will never end!)

You know, I have been asked that question before, "when are you due?"--not a fun thing to hear when you are NOT pregnant.

I do agree with Scot about the exercise thing. You have to start somewhere, and there's no shame in taking a break to catch your breath. In time you'll be doing more and going farther. Right now I can only walk 6/10 of a mile, but I do it often, and some day I'll be up to a mile and then two, and so on, and so on, and so on...

Why do we all feel fat? Maybe because we are Americans and tend to outweigh everyone else. But mostly because Madison Avenue give us all these Barbi and Ken images to compare ourselves to. My main weight problem is that I don't want to have to go out and buy new shirts and sport jackets for work. Ah well. If the lady in the bikini doesn't care...working out is good (as if I would know having done little of it for the last ten years). But in the meantime, be happy.

I think we all packed on some weight this winter! Like you I want the weather to warm up. I can up with more excuses to not make it to the gym. Work really gets in the way!! Just remember baby steps friend! Start small and work up! If I lived closer we could do it together!
