In Memory of my Mom.....

14 years ago today my mom passed away...she was only 49 years old....not one day has passed that I haven't thought about her....I miss her so very much....but know that one day we will be reunited again....until then....I LOVE YOU MOM!!!

Josh gave me his heart.....

Yesterday Josh and I went to Taco Johns for lunch...while eating our  tacos and  potato oles Josh handed me this one.....isnt it cool...its shaped like a heart......awwwwwww he gave me his heart at Taco Johns!!!

Veterans Day 2012 Free Meals and Deals

Today is the day we honor our armed service men and women....as a mom of a soldier I can not say enough how very thankful I am for everything that each one of these men and women have done for us and our freedom.Thank you does not seem like enough...but always remembering what you have done and the sacrifices you have given is a start.

 In honor of this day many restaurants are offering  free meals or discounted meals to veterans...please remember to have valid proof of service, whether active or a veteran.

Applebee’s – free meal, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012: Last year, Applebee’s served over one million free meals to military veterans and active servicemembers. Applebee’s is again offering a free meal to military veterans and active-duty service members on Veterans Day, Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. There will be 7 entrées to choose from, beverage and gratuity not included.  

Bar Louie, Free meal on Veterans Day, Nov. 11. 2012. Active duty military members and veterans can receive a free meal, up to $10 in value, and a free non-alcoholic beverage.

Champps Americana, Nov. 11, 2012. We’re celebrating our Veterans with an All American Meal! All Veterans and Active Military will receive a free burger on Friday, November 11th!  Offer not valid for the Pepperjack Bacon Stack Burger or Kobe Burger. Dine in only, valid at participating locations.

Chili’s – free meal, Sunday, Nov. 11 2012. Chili’s is offering all military veterans past and present their choice of one of 7 meals. This offer is available from 11am – 5pm on November 11, 2012 at participating Chili’s in the U.S. only. Dine-in from limited menu only; beverages and gratuity not included.

Denny’s Veterans Day Appreciation Event, Nov. 12 2012. Free all you can eat pancakes from 6 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 12  Offer available in every Denny’s nationwide.

Famous Dave’s – Sunday Nov. 11 2012. Free or discounted meals on Veterans Day. Offer varies by location, please check the Famous Dave’s Veterans Day page or call your local restaurant for more information.

Golden Corral – Free meal, Monday Nov. 12: The 12th annual Golden Corral Military Appreciation Monday dinner will is available to any person who has ever served in the United States Military. Hooters – Free Meal, Sunday, Nov. 11 2012. Hooter’s is serving up a free meal to military veterans all day on Veterans Day. Offer good for all veterans and active duty military personnel. Get 10 Free Wings – Boneless or Regular, drink purchase required. Offer valid at participating Hooters only

Hy-Vee, Free Breakfast, Friday, Nov. 11, 2012. Free Veterans Day breakfast from 7am – 11am at all Hy-Vee supermarkets with in-store dining. Please call ahead to verify participation

Krispy Kreme – Free doughnut. Available only at participating Krispy Kreme stores. Offer available to all active-duty, retirees & veterans on Friday November 11th. Be sure to call ahead to verify your local Krispy Kreme is participating.

Little Caesars® Pizza, Monday, Nov. 12, 2012. Little Caesars is honoring the men and women of the United States armed forces this Veterans Day by providing veterans and active military members with a free Crazy Bread® with proof of military status or proof of service at participating stores nationwide. Call ahead to verify participation.

Lone Star Steakhouse, Monday, Nov. 12, 2012. Free Appetizer for military members and veterans. Taste of Texas Sampler not included. ID required, please call ahead for verification.

Max & Erma’s, Sunday, November 11, 2012. Participating Max & Erma’s locations are offering military members and veterans a free Best Cheeseburger in America Combo, which includes tortilla soup or side Caesar salad, seasoned fries, and chocolate chip cookies.

McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurants – free lunch or dinner, Sunday Nov 11, 2012: McCormick & Schmick’s is celebrating their 14th annual Veteran’s Appreciation Event on Sunday, November 11th. Veterans will be able to choose a complimentary lunch or dinner entrée. Veterans must provide proof of military service. Outback Steakhouse – A week of Free Bloomin’ Onions and Cokes Monday Nov. 7 – Friday Nov. 11 2012. Outback Steakhouse is honoring America’s military veterans by offering active duty military and veterans a free Bloomin’ Onion and a Coca-Cola product

Subway – Free Six Inch Sub, November 11, 2012. Select SUBWAY® Restaurants will offer a FREE six inch sub or flatbread to military veterans on Veterans Day. This offer is valid only on November 11, 2012 at participating local SUBWAY® restaurants

Texas Roadhouse – free lunch, Sunday, Nov. 11 2012. Every Texas Roadhouse location across the country will participate in the free lunch event to honor the men and women of our armed forces. Choose from one of 10 free meals, plus sides and a drink.

T.G.I. Friday’s – Free Lunch, Monday Nov 12, 2012. Valid for all US Military personnel and veterans. Must wear uniform (if permitted by your service) or present military ID or other proof of service. Only valid at participating locations

The Olive Garden, Free entrée, Nov. 11, 2012. Offer good for veterans and active duty military, on Friday, November 11th during regular business hours. Chose from a special menu; all entrées inlcude freshly baked garlic sticks and choice of soup or salad. Off er good in US and Canada

Tim Hortons – all US locations are offering a free donut to all veterans (check out the Star Spangled donut!).

Domestic violence thrives when we are silent

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month....domestic violence use to be  ignored or treated as a private matter where victims were left to suffer in silence without hope of intervention..not anymore. In October 1987, the first Domestic Violence Awareness Month was observed. That same year the first national toll-free hotline was begun.

Domestic violence remains a huge and largely hidden problem, someone is physically, sexually, psychologically or verbally abused by an intimate partner every 15 seconds. According to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence, in the United States, 1.3 million women and 830,000 men are assaulted each year by people they believe love them. It goes on in teen couples as well as in adult relationships. One study found that 1 in 5 high school girls reported being physically or sexually abused by a dating partner. 

There has been increase in  awareness of the problem. More proactive measures are being taken to identify and help victims.But there is still a long way to go. Please do your part if you are a victim or you know someone that is don't be afraid to reach out for help. Victims who need help and support to stay safe can call the national Resource Center on Domestic Violence at 800-799-7233 or visit their website

I was a victim of domestic violence I know the fear that comes along with it, but I can honestly say that once you break free  and find your own voice you will feel 100 times better. No one deserves to be abused....Domestic violence thrives when we are silent, but if we take a stand and work together, we can end domestic violence.

This is the DISAPPOINTING BLT I received today @ Sonic Drive-In  I mean seriously guys ONLY two pieces of bacon...and to top it off they were COLD ?!?! Are you kidding me??? 

It was basically a salad sandwich...UGH!!!!

This is me

There comes a time when you have to stand up and shout: This is me damn it! I look the way I look, think the way I think, feel the way I feel,love the way I love! I am a whole complex package. Take me... or leave me. Accept me - or walk away! Do not try to make me feel like less of a person, just because I don't fit your idea of who I should be and don't try to change me to fit your mold. If I need to change, I alone will make that decision.

Devins Track meet

Just thought Id share my youngest sons track meet with everyone....he is in the 7th grade this year and so its his first year of track....he is a super fast runner so he participates in the 100 meter, 200 meter, 400 meter, does a relay and then  the one event that freaks me out the most at a track meet...he of course is doing that as well...the pole vault.....I am sharing a couple videos with you just because Im a proud momma so its my moment to boast!

So after my son was at school this morning and we were cleaning up the dishes we seen this in the bottom of his glass....he had milk for breakfast and don't ask me how but somehow it left a smiley face looking up at us....That's a silly start to our day!
