I just wanted to let you guys know that yes Im still alive....I thank you for the comments and the emails while I was away and even last week when I returned and no one had heard from me yet (other then you Tom as we text just about every day so you knew I was still alive) Our trip to Texas was awesome. It was so good to see my brother and sister and nephew. We were on the go every day which is fun and exciting at the time but man does that catch up to you eventually!!!!! We went to the aquarium in Dallas on friday that was lots of fun and very exciting for the kiddos.

On Saturday we went to this HUGE flea market...we spent 5 hours there and still didnt see everything!!! But we had lots of fun and we bought some cool things. Didnt take any pictures there but trust me it was fun and we are already talking about going again when we go back to Texas. Then on Sunday we went to the Nascar race. There are no words to express how much fun this was. Now I know you either like Nascar or you dont. And if you do then going to a race is something you just HAVE to experience!!! My favorite driver is TONY STEWART...with his teammate RYAN NEWMAN coming in a close second. WE stood for two hours straight just for the chance for me to see these two guys up close and personal. As soon as I knew they were going to make an appearance there was no way I was going to be stuck in the back of the crowd!!! Was it worth it??? HECK YEAH!!!! I walked away with a HUGE smile on my face...ok I actually felt like I could no longer walk beause when I say we stood for two hours waiting I am serious it was two hours just standing in place waiting for them to show up and then one hour standing once they did appear...so it kind of felt like I no longer had feet!!!!

What about me 4 my Wednesday

So tomorrow is the day Ive been looking forward to for awhile...we are leaving and heading to Texas to see my family that I oh so miss!!!! I really am excited even if you can't tell it by this picture....why the sad look??? Well I was just informed yesterday morning that my dear Aunt Flo is coming along for the trip. She decided to do a SURPRISE visit and I'm just over joyed...can you tell????

Anyway one of my followers emailed me and told me that I should leave the panel open so to speak for questions. So while I'm gone for the next 5 days with no computer access I'm going to let you guys leave me comments asking me anything you want to know and when I return I will be brave enough to answer the questions for my" what about me 4 my Wednesday" next week. If you want to ask a question and want to remain anonymous then feel free to email me the question and I will still post the answer.

a little lesson about the day

"The first of April is the day we remember what we are the other 364 days of the year."
- Mark Twain

Some believe April Fool's Day sort of evolved simultaneously in several cultures at the same time, from celebrations involving the first day of spring. From 14th to 16th century much of the Western world celebrated the new year either with a party that lasted from March 25 to April 1 or on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Easter.

The date for Easter varies from year to year. Using the "Julian Calendar," Easter normally occurred around the first part of the month in April, the beginning of the season, Spring - as marked by the "vernal equinox." In Western astrology, the Tropical Zodiac still begins its yearly cycle in the Zodiac sign of Aries.

In 1582 A.D., Pope Gregory XIII introduced what is now called the "Gregorian Calendar". The beginning of the new year was changed to more closely align the celebration of the new year with the birth of Jesus Christ. Ten days were deleted from the calendar, so that October 4, 1582 was followed by October 15, 1582. The vernal equinox, the first day of Spring, of 1583, and all subsequent years, occurred on or about March 21.

The most common belief is that the observance of April Fool's Day began in France after the adoption of the reform calendar by Charles IX in 1564. When New Year's Day was changed to January 1. People who still celebrated New Year's Day on April 1 were the 'butt' of many jokes. They were called "Poisson d'Avril" (April Fish) because at that time of year the sun was in the zodiac sign of Pisces, the fish. In France it became customary to play tricks on family and friends. French children fool their friends by taping a paper fish to their friends' backs. When the "young fool" discovers this trick, the prankster yells "Poisson d’Avril!"

In England, tricks can be played only in the morning. If a trick is played on you, you are a "noodle". In Scotland you are called an "April Gowk" or cuckoo bird. It lasts for two days there. The second day in Scotland is called Taily Day and is dedicated to pranks involving the buttocks. The Scotts can be given credit for the "Kick Me" and the 'to be the butt of a joke' expression.

Pesce d'Aprile! or April Fool's in Italy is traditionally a day of practical jokes, pranks, and silliness. The origin of this custom is ancient and ambiguous, but one thing is certain: much buffoonery and hilarity will take place. In Portugal, April Fool's is celebrated on the Sunday and Monday before Lent. The traditional trick there is to throw flour at your friends.

Americans play small tricks on friends and strangers alike on the first of April. One common trick on April Fool's Day is pointing down to a friend's shoe and saying, "Your shoelace is untied." If victim falls for the joke the prankster yells, "April Fool!" Most April Fool jokes are harmless pranks.

Sometimes articles in print and on line magazines are written 'tongue in cheek' as an April Fool's prank. The news media sometimes gets involved. A British short film once shown on April Fool's Day was a fairly detailed documentary about "spaghetti farmers" and how they harvest their crop from the spaghetti trees.

April Fool's Day is a "for-fun-only" observance in which silly harmless pranks are played on others. There are no gifts to buy or celebrations to gear up for. It's a fun little holiday, on which you must remain on the alert or you may be the next
April
Fool!

oh look at this picture

Josh just sent me this...even though he's working only maybe 70 miles away from home...he has no snow on the ground and he ran across this pretty little creek (he said the water is crystal clear). Knowing I just love the outdoor pics of things like this he took it with his phone and sent it to me and thanks to all this technology I am now sharing it with all of you!!!!! I cant believe that I have snow on the ground, no sun, and winds blowing 45 mph and he has this!!!!!

Totally Random Picture of the Day

My totally random picture for the day happened while taking Devin to school this morning. We woke up this morning to snow on the ground and winds blowing 45 mph. The sky is gray and the clouds are moving fast but Devin grabbed my phone and snapped this picture of the sun trying to peek thru the moving clouds. Not really sure why my pictures end up so small when I transfer them from my phone but oh well you can still see the beauty of the sun even on this dark, cloudy, and ohhh so cold day!!!!
Man I hope that Spring weather gets here SOON!!!!!

Totally random picture

My friend Tom wanted to start a "totally random picture" theme posting a picture that we randomly take during our day. Well this picture was taken by my "joshy" with his cell phone today as he was working. He does land surveying and sometimes sees some really cool things. He sent me this because I like shots of old windmills and old farm houses. As you can see the sky is all grey as there is a storm moving in on us again. (Not really sure why the picture turned out so small.)

Happiness

For a long time it had seemed to me that life was about to begin..real life...But, there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time to be served or a debt to be paid..then LIFE would begin.
At last it dawned on me that these obstacles where my LIFE. This perspective has helped me see that there is no way to happiness... but that happiness is the way.

So, stop waiting until you finish school, until you go back to school, until you lose ten pounds, until you have kids, until your kids leave the house, until you retire, until you get married...until you get divorced, until Friday night, until you get a new car, or home, or job, until your song comes on the radio, until spring, summer, winter or fall...until you have a drink, until you sobered up, or until you die, to decide that there is no better time to be happy then NOW!!

A love thought

http://www.innerlightministries.com/images/hand-heart.jpg

"When you have nothing left but love, then for the first time you become aware that love is enough."

Thought 4 My Thursday

There comes a time when you must stand alone.
You must feel confident enough within yourself to follow your own dreams.
You must be willing to make sacrifices.
You must be capable of changing and rearranging your priorities so that your final goal can be achieved.
Sometimes, familiarity and comfort need to be challenged.
There are times when you must take a few extra chances and create your own realities.
Be strong enough to at least try to make your life better.
Be confident enough that you won't settle for a compromise just to get by.
Appreciate yourself by allowing yourself the opportunities to grow, develop, and find your true sense of purpose in this life.
Don't stand in someone else's shadow when it's your sunlight that should lead the way.
